Health Advisory
The specific surroundings within which an organism, a species, or a community lives. The surroundings include physical factors such as temperature, moisture, and light together with biological factors such as the presence of food or predator organisms. The term can be employed to define surroundings on almost any scale from marine habitat, which encompasses the oceans, to microhabitat in a hair follicle of the skin.
Hardwired Array Logic
The time taken by certain materials to lose half their strength. The time required for half of the atoms of a radioactive element to undergo decay. The time required for the elimination of one half a total dose from the body.
A class of simple hydrocarbon derivatives in which bromine, chlorine and fluorine are substituted for some or all of the hydrogen atoms. These compounds are used mainly as fire-extinguishing gases, the two best known being Halon 1211 (CF2BrCl) and Halon 1301 (CF3Br). The chemicals are long-lived in the troposphere and are implicated in the depletion of the ozone layer.
A mechanical device attached to an automatic testing or finishing machine which loads the parts one at a time.
Hazardous Air Pollutant
A photoplate coated with a relatively hard, non-emulsion coating that can be selectively etched to produce a photomask. Popular hard surface materials are chromium, chromium oxide, and iron oxide.
The physical components of a computer or an electronic system - as opposed to software, which is the term used to describe the programs and instructions for a computer.
Hot Air Solder Leveling
Process to deposit uniform coating of solder on PCB's.
- Hazardous Waste Managemente
The systematic control of the collection, source separation, storage, transportation, processing, treatment, recovery, and disposal of hazardous wastes.

Health Effect Advisories
The number of employees in an organization or assigned to an activity.
An assembly that serves to dissipate, carry away, or radiate into the surrounding atmosphere heat that is generated by an active electronic device.
Metallic elements like mercury, chromium, cadmium, arsenic, and lead, with high molecular weights. They can damage living beings at low concentrations and tend to accumulate in the food chain.
High-Efficiency Particulate Air filter
A specially constructed filter membrane that allows a high volume of air flow and stops small particles of some pre-determined size from passing through.
HETetodyne
A chemical primer used to promote improved adhesion between the (HMDS) photoresist layer and the underlying surface.

Hybrid-Integrated Circuit
A special pressure vessel contained inside a resistance heated furnace. This pressure vessel allows thermal oxidation to be done at raised pressure levels of 5 to 25 atmospheres.
Home Information Infrastructure
The displacement of a thin-film material that occurs when heated and cooled. Hillocks of aluminum are sometimes found in the aluminum interconnect metal on semiconductor devices.
HIgh-Noise-Immunity Logic
ST integrated circuit package identical in shape and size to the standard quad flat package but with greater power handling capacity.

A temporary stoppage.
The absence of a valence electron in a semiconductor crystal. The movement of a hole is equivalent to the movement of a positive charge.
Of or related to a view of the natural environment that encompasses an understanding of the functioning of the complete array of organisms and chemical-physical factors acting in concert rather than the properties of the individual parts.
